BUILD IT was selected as the General Contractor for the ground-up base building construction of the Shoppers Drug Mart located in Dunnville, Ontario. Acting on behalf of the landlord, our team was responsible for the structural creation of this essential retail hub, transforming a vacant site into a high-quality commercial shell ready for tenant occupancy.

As a ground-up construction project from scratch, BUILD IT managed the entire primary build process to deliver a complete building envelope. Our scope centered on the critical structural and exterior elements required to establish a permanent and durable retail presence in the Haldimand County community. By focusing on the base building delivery, we ensured that all foundational and site requirements met the rigorous standards of both the landlord and the future retail tenant.

Our specialized scope for this project included: Site Development and Foundations, where we executed all civil work, deep excavations, and the installation of the structural concrete slab. We managed the full Building Shell Construction, erecting the primary steel and masonry structure and completing the building envelope to ensure a fully weather-tight and secure facility. We also handled the Exterior Finishes and Site Improvements, including the application of branded exterior facades, roofing systems, and the preparation of the surrounding parking and loading areas. Additionally, our team ensured all primary mechanical and electrical services were brought into the building, providing a seamless hand-off for the subsequent interior fit-out phase.
