BUILD IT was the General Contractor for the complete ground-up construction of the new Wendy’s restaurant in Dunnville, Ontario, located in the heart of Haldimand County.

This project involved a significant construction undertaking, transforming a vacant site into a fully operational quick-service restaurant (QSR). Our expertise was essential in managing the complexity of delivering a ground-up build from scratch, coordinating all phases from civil work to final interior finishes.

A key component of this project was the seamless execution of both the Landlord Work (LL) and the subsequent Tenant Fit-out. This dual responsibility allowed BUILD IT to deliver a turnkey solution. Our Landlord (LL) Work scope included all external and foundational elements: site servicing, laying the deep foundations, constructing the full structural building shell, and completing the exterior finishes, including the drive-thru infrastructure. This phase ensured the building envelope was structurally sound and weatherproof. Following the shell completion, our Tenant (T) Work team executed the entire interior fit-out to meet Wendy’s strict corporate design standards. This encompassed the installation of all kitchen equipment, detailed millwork for the counter and dining area, implementation of digital menu boards, and installation of all high-efficiency mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems, ensuring the restaurant was fully operational and ready for opening.

Successfully managing the integration of both the LL and Tenant scopes on a fast-track schedule demonstrates BUILD IT’s deep experience in commercial construction and our commitment to preventing costly hand-off delays. By controlling the entire build process, we delivered a high-quality, modern Global Next Gen-style restaurant that meets the operational efficiency and brand expectations of Wendy’s, successfully adding a vital dining option to the Dunnville community.
